General parameters of SoftExpert Process
Prerequisite
- Access to the Configuration > General parameters (PM009) menu.
Introduction
The general parameters of SoftExpert Process gather configurations that establish the default behavior of the component, with a direct impact on the modeling, execution, and management of the processes.
In this menu, it is possible to define default types for activities and decisions, the evaluation method to be used by the organization's processes, and the BIA (Business Impact Analysis) evaluation method.
See how to configure the general parameters of this component:
Configuring the general parameters
1. Access the Configuration > General parameters (PM009) menu.
2. Select the desired tab and make the necessary adjustments:
General
- Create activity with disabled e-mail configuration: check this option to disable e-mail sending when creating activities.
- Require symbol in the characteristic: check this field so that, when associating a characteristic with the data of a process, activity, or decision, the Symbol field is displayed for completion.

Activity/Decision
-
Activity: select the default type that will classify the activities. The selected type will be applied to the activities created in the process flowcharts.
- Enter the default duration that will be applied when the activities are instantiated. The duration can be set in hours/minutes (hhh:mm), Day(s), Week(s), or Month(s).
-
Decision: select the default type that will classify the decisions. The selected type will be applied to decisions created in process flowcharts.
- Enter the default duration that will be applied when the decisions are instantiated. The duration can be set in hours/minutes (hhh:mm), Day(s), Week(s), or Month(s).

Evaluation
- Evaluation method: select which evaluation method will be applied to the process instances of the organization.
- BIA evaluation method: define the method that will be used to execute the business impact analysis on the organization's processes.
The evaluation methods must be previously recorded in the Configuration > Priority > Evaluation method (PM046) menu. To be used as a BIA evaluation method, the methods must be of the "Matrix (BIA)" type.

Turtle diagram
A turtle diagram is a graphical representation used to visualize, in a structured way, the main elements of a process or activity, such as inputs, outputs, resources, responsibilities, and indicators.
In this tab, it is possible to configure which information will be displayed in the diagram, allowing the user to adapt its display to the organization's needs and the desired level of detail.
In the Process sub-tab, the display of the diagram for the processes is configured, while in the Activity sub-tab, the display for the process activities is configured.
After selecting the desired sub-tab, click on the side frames and select the information that must be presented in the diagram.

The turtle diagram has been integrated into the general parameters of SoftExpert Process in version 3.0 of the system, with the discontinuation of the Turtle diagram (PM050) menu.

3. Click on the
button.
Conclusion
All done! The general parameters will be duly configured.
